DIY Mason Jar Plant Favors

We shared a fun photo booth for a jungle themed birthday party, and now we’ve got the favors to go along! What better way to keep the party going than by giving out these DIY plant favors in personalized mason jars? Follow a few simple steps to create these unique favors or set up a station for kids to create their own!

Gather your supplies:

Personalized Mason Jars

A few big house plants from your local garden center

Extra soil or container filler

Bakers Twine

Free Printable Leaf Favor Tags

Free Printable Favor Sign

Step 1:

Separate the houseplant into smaller sections that will fit in each jar.

Step 2:

Consider some special container filler to add to each potted plant. We found this great black mica container filler at IKEA.

Step 3:

Print and cut and our free printable leaf favor tags. Using a small hole punch (I recommend 1/8” hole punch), punch a hole in the end of the tag. Cut lengths of twine long enough to wrap the jar two times.

Step 4:

Plant your house plants in each jar. We added a little bit of our black mica container filler to each jar before planting and then to top off after planting for an extra special touch to each plant favor jar.

String the leaf favor tag to the jar using the twine and you are done!
