Hosting a Halloween party? Build a candy buffet! This spin on traditional trick-or treating is fun for kids and adults too! A candy buffet is the perfect backdrop for your party and is a fun way for guests to pick their own treats to take home.
Follow these easy steps for a Kate Aspen style candy buffet:
1. Select a color palette: many retailers now offer candy separated by color, specifically for these popular dessert displays. For Halloween, we stuck to orange, black, white, and natural wood.
2. Select your candy: Small candies fit perfectly into treat containers. We recommend a variety of shapes and flavors. Try candy corn, gumballs, chocolate nonpareils with orange sprinkles, small lollipops, Reese’s Pieces, “eyeball” chocolates, hard candies, etc.
3. Select your display pieces: Household products and DIY projects lend themselves very well to your tablescape. Apothecary jars, vases, platters, cake stands and serving utensils can be used and staged at varying heights to build an impressive display.
•We used a natural wood cutting board to add height and apothecary jars to hold the candy. We also incorporated Kate Aspen “Damask Traditions” Frosted Glass Tea Light Holders on a small tray and surrounded them with candy corn to add some light and color. Finally, a “spider web” was stretched across our existing artwork to set the spooky scene.
4. Select your favor jars: We recommend Kate Aspen “Vintage” Personalized Milk Favor Jars in the “traditions” design. From weddings to Halloween, this is the perfect giveaway!
Happy planning!
