A childhood vacation spot turned gorgeous wedding ceremony and reception – that’s what today’s New England nautical wedding is all about! With picturesque views, a sentimental ceremony and a clam bake, this wedding is a must see. Scroll down to keep reading about this lovely couple and their dreamy wedding day.
The Perfect Location
The bride’s family had vacationed in Cape Cod for a number of years, so when it came time to choose a wedding location, this place definitely struck a cord. The couple was even able to rent the exact house her family vacationed at to use for their wedding day. Because they had also traveled there together, the spot held a special place in both of their hearts and was the perfect venue for their big day.
Many locations around town were sentimental to the bride and groom, so they traveled around to some of their favorite historic spots to take wedding portraits.
Delicate Dress Details
The bride and her bridesmaids got ready for the big day together, with the bridesmaids in matching robes and the bride herself in white.
The bride wore her hair in loose waves and was a classic beauty in a gorgeous dress with a lace overlay. Her bouquet was filled with soft colors and gorgeous greenery – very fitting for their New England nautical wedding.
A Sweet First Look and a Sentimental Ceremony
The bride and groom’s first look was just as enchanting as the rest of their wedding day. They met in a clearing overlooking the bay and posed for a few photos as they greeted each other before they were married.
Friends and family gathered in the yard of the private residence to watch the couple exchange vows. The ceremony was more sentimental than normal as the bride’s brother officiated the wedding.
Tables Inspired By the Cape
The tablescapes at this New England wedding were inspired by different places around Cape Cod – including Chatham and Martha’s Vineyard. Wooden boxes filled with florals and greenery were the perfect centerpieces for this lovely wedding.
Nautical Details
New England is the perfect place for a nautical wedding because maritime details are everywhere you look – from the bottle openers at the bar to the restaurant signage.
A New England Style Feast
A New England party isn’t complete without a clam bake! Guests feasted on traditional New England fare like lobster, corn and locally made ice cream.
The wedding cake was nothing short of elegant. A simple three-tiered cake with elegant details was topped with fresh flowers and made a statement on their cake table.
An Extended Wedding Weekend
The California couple decided that instead of taking a honeymoon that they would rent the private residence for two weeks and combine the wedding and honeymoon into one – the perfect way to make their wedding weekend last a little bit longer.
