There’s a baby shower trend that we are so excited about – a “sip and see” party! Throwing a “sip and see” is a great way to gather friends to meet the new baby and celebrate the new Mommy. If you’re hosting at home, you can transform your space with DIY details to make the occasion extra special.
This sophisticated garden themed “sip and see” with whimsical vintage swan details is the perfect Spring shower theme! Styled by Two Prince Bakery Theater and captured by Jessica Charles Photography, this shower is full of inspiration for Spring parties! Follow these easy steps to host a sip and see in your home:
1. Choose a Sip and See Invitation
Invitations are the starting point for inspiration. This beautiful invitation from Tiny Prints features a delicate floral wreath. This inspired the simple yet striking color palette of yellow, pink, gold, and a touch of green.
2. DIY Decorations
Hundreds of handmade watercolor paper flowers were custom made to match the paper suite, and a floral chandelier makes a breakfast nook feel a little more magical.
3. Dress for the Occasion
Flower crowns make your guests feel festive and they’re pretty keepsakes, too.
Dress your little swan in white. She’s the guest of honor, after all.
4. Incorporate the Theme into the Food
The floral theme is carried throughout this baby shower, including the food. Adding delicate, edible flowers to this gruyere and apple field green salad transforms this into a element of the decor as well as a delicious dish.
Swan details are also carried out in very subtle ways to maintain the softness of this baby shower. The handmade swan backdrop on the dessert table was made in silk and embellished with real feathers as well as gold rhinestones and paper flowers.
The desserts are all beautifully done in shades of yellow, pink, gold and green down to the last detail (the inside of the cake is pink and yellow layers).
Styling Tip: Re-purpose vintage decor. Vintage swan cigar holders cleverly become cake pop stands!
This flower topped cake even has the party color palette inside!
5. Don’t Forget the Gifts
You can skip the games – this party is all about meeting the baby! Move the party to the living room and gather around to share advice and special gifts. A giant inflatable swan makes a unique gift display!
